ISO Magazine is a student-run publication based out of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Founded in 2008, ISO has served as a platform for experimentation, dialogue, and collaboration among artists, writers, and thinkers invested in visual culture. Each semester, our rotating staff curates and produces issues that respond to contemporary themes, ranging from questions of identity and technology to the shifting boundaries between art and documentation.
We aim to place the work of emerging photographers in thoughtful conversation with that of established artists, creating a space where new voices can engage with broader artistic and critical discourses. Beyond featuring photographic work, ISO also publishes writing that approaches photography from both critical and creative perspectives—essays, interviews, and reflections that consider how images shape the way we see, remember, and participate in the world around us.
